AdvR offers modulator capabilities in KTP, MgO:LN, and LN waveguides offering solutions for wavelengths from the near UV to telecom. Our expertise in RF and waveguide design allows for custom designs for unique application requirements. Custom modulator solutions can be utilized by OEMs and researchers that require features, specs, and packaging that are unavailable in commercial offerings.

Pockel Rotator

AdvR’s waveguide-based Pockel’s cell offers a high-speed polarization switch with low drive voltage. This device takes advantage of the birefringence of our KTP waveguide by populating orthogonal polarizations along the crystal axes and introducing a relative phase delay between them with an applied RF signal. AdvR’s waveguide-based Pockel’s cell can switch between states at higher speeds and with much lower voltages compared to a bulk configuration.

Second Harmonic Modulator

The Second Harmonic Modulator is a device that combines quasi-phase matched second harmonic generation and phase modulation into a single fiber coupled waveguide. AdvR has a strong history in delivering fiber coupled frequency converters and broadband phase modulators. With the Second Harmonic Modulator, AdvR offers both capabilities in a single device.

AdvR’s X-cut APE LN phase modulator delivers superior modulation performance for telecom wavelengths. These modulators offer low Vpi, improved power handling and low RAM versus other telecom modulators. Designed for modulation speeds of 100’s of MHz, this solution is ideal for applications in fiber sensing and precision metrology.

This device offers low Vpi, low insertion loss, and high extinction ratio in a compact, fiber coupled design. AdvR’s visible amplitude modulator expands telecom capability to visible wavelengths to meet emerging needs in quantum sensing, computing, and networking applications.

Visible Phase Modulators

MgO:LN Phase Modulator

AdvR’s MgO:LN waveguide-based phase modulator offers high speed operation with low Vpi in a compact and low loss fiber coupled configuration. The polarizing waveguide used in this device offers improved PER with higher power handling than other broadband fiber coupled devices. These phase modulators are available for wavelengths from the near UV to near IR.

KTP Phase Modulator

AdvR offers KTP waveguide-based phase modulators to operate at wavelengths ranging from near-infrared to near-ultraviolet. The use of KTP waveguides enables modulators with high power handling in a fiber coupled configuration while maintaining broadband modulation and low Vpi. These modulators are available at wavelengths ranging from the near UV to near IR.
